Apologies to anybody who has been trying to access this server between roughly 01:30GMT and 07:00GMT and have not been able to.
I noticed that there had been no inbound traffic on the firewall so I renewed the lease on the DHCP server (it was set so that it ran out on 2nd February) and it has now gone down to a 1 hour lease.
Thanks to the guys at Virgin media for failing to honour the DHCP leases that their server had already issued until they expired.
